Vols add receiver to 2014 class.

KNOXVILLE—The Vols added a ninth member to the 2014 class with the weekend commitment of Lawrence Lee. Rated as a 3-star receiver by 247Sports and Scout, the 5-10, 165 pound receiver from Pensacola, Florida caught 56 passes for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns last year. A versatile talent, he also gained 301 yards on the ground and scored four rushing touchdowns. Lee was rated as a 4-star prospect and the No. 9 receiver in the 2014 class heading into last season but saw his ranking drop to 3-stars despite an impressive junior campaign.

In recent months, his stock has been on the rise. Missouri offered Lee a scholarship in February; in doing so they became his first SEC offer. The Vols followed suit in March and Lee visited campus over the weekend. Lee, who is an admitted Vol fan, didn’t leave Knoxville without offering a verbal commitment to Butch Jones (his pledge was first reported by Rivals late Sunday evening, though not ranked by Rivals, he will be soon). A truly explosive talent, he is the type of player that can contribute in multiple ways and Tennessee’s spread attack should allow him to showcase his skills. His hands, lateral quickness, and vision make him an excellent candidate to step in and see early playing time in the slot position. The Vols desperately need depth at receiver and even with his commitment, UT will look to add a few more receivers to the 2014 class. Check out his impressive highlight reel below.
