It was great. We had a very good time. Didn’t make it up early enough for the fan day portion, but other than that we had a very good time. Had dinner @ Big Ed’s in Oak Ridge (my Dads hometown). Love the old dives, I miss some of my favs in Knoxville like “The Roman Room”. Took a friend who has never been to Knoxville to see the pre reqs…the rock, the torch bearer, TBA, Gen Neyland statue, and Worlds Fair park. As far as the game itself, I really enjoyed it. My oldest son and I were laughing together because we knew the older folks like my Dad didn’t really enjoy all the hip hop, but the players sure seemed to enjoy it. The offense looked like they still have a very long way to go. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dobbs gets a legitimate shot this fall. The running backs ran with conviction, which was nice to see for a change. The defense looked much faster. Like one of my fav radio guys here in Nashville (Blaine Bishop) says “thinking makes you slow”. They did a much better job of reading/reacting. I was pleased to see all the excitement back. I am definitely waiting with cautious optimism to see what we look like this fall. My kids were bummed they didn’t get to meet the CBJ, they were looking forward to telling him that they are early commits for #team122 and #team126 respectively. But hey gotta leave em wanting something so they will be ready to come back….lol.

I am super stoked about this weekend. We are coming up from Nashville with  7 us total. It’s an all Vol family affair, three generations from 63-3.  Including my father a ’70s alum, myself a lifelong Vol, my wife, a friend, and my three boys #team123, #team126, #team132! Gotta try and get there early enough for some autographs, but we will be there. GBO!

How ironic that I tweet yall about Mr. Hurd and hours later he commits. The snowball is now rolling. If CBJ keeps this pace he will be staring down one the top classes in the country. Just seeing  the young men so excited gets me hyped! Trying my best to stay realistic, but man….it’s been a long time since we had this many positives comming down the pipeline day after day.  I for one am impressed. I think the twitter element of allowing recruits to recruit  other recruits is paying HUGE dividends. Jalen tweeting Treyvon and so forth. It is fun to watch in real time.  GBO!!!!

Where is Alex Bars leaning? I know he has alot of offers, but like always the “big uglies” don’t get much pub.  Also what Josh Malone?

I would love to take my fam up for the O/W game. I have been trying to find a few friends to go with us to help defray the fuel costs. Is it gonna be on the tube if I can’t make it? We also have plans to go to at least one road game a year as a fam trip. Any suggestions on where to start this year?

I am really intrigued by the Kelly Jr kid. His highlight real is amazing! As for the Hurd kid… his stats are out of this world, but I am concerned that his running style is similar to Chris Brown (CO, Titans).  He runs straight up and down, which for a tall guy can lead to knee injuries. At any rate, those are my two cents.

I think CBJ has a chance to do something historic with next years class. However, he has got help himself by putting together some quality wins this year. I am pleased to see things headed in the right direction. We have some pieces in place and are looking to land some more. ATL might not be as far off as some think…3yrs doesn’t seem crazy.

How does our  off & def lineman situations sit?  How many guys do we have behind the starters, and how many prospects are we targeting?

So Al could be a G.A. for a year or two. I like the idea of that, give him some time to “cut his teeth” as they say. I would think that his passion would lend its self well to any career,  but have always thought that fire would be great on the practice flied and locker room.

As far as roundball is concerned, I would love to hear from C.J. and Chris Lofton. We haven’t had any lights shooters since then. Don’t hear much about Lofton anymore. Is Watson still with the Bulls?

On a side note. Does Big Al have any coaching aspirations?

Of all our current commits, who do you think will have the most substantial immediate impact?

if we are talking about Vols that brought us championships, we have to talk about my second favorite Vol of all time….Mr. Al Wilson! One of the best ever on and off to every rock the Power T.
