Finally!!! Vols Play at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2016!

“The Last Colosseum” is how NASCAR markets Bristol Motor Speedway, and unless you have attended a race there it may not make sense to you. Think Roman Gladiators…Blood. Warriors. Noise. Etc.

The Vols and Hokies have agreed to play a football game in 2016 at Bristol Motor Speedway, which can easily seat 160,000.

This is an event that has been talked about for years. Vol fans have all but pleaded for this to take place for a decade or two and now it’s finally going to happen.

Bristol Motor Speedway’s upper East Tennessee location makes it an ideal venue for fans of both teams (UT and Virginia Tech) to watch a game. Look for more details (such as an exact date) to emerge in the next few days.

In September of 2013, Michigan announced a record crowd of 115,109 for their game against Notre Dame, which stands as the attendance record for an NCAA football game. The Vols and Hokies won’t have any problem shattering that mark at Bristol Motor Speedway.
